This trip the train was only a few carriages and we were sitting up.
The scenery changed as we travelled from Jasper to Prince George. As we were leaving Jasper I saw a black bear ambling alongside the railway tracks.
Quite a number of times the train stayed still and this is the type of scenery we could see. Some of the freight trains were more than 200 trucks long.
When we finally got near Prince George the train stopped. It was going to be a 3 hour wait until the train could get into the station. The conductor organised taxis to take the passengers to the station. Our taxi took us to our hotel for the night.
It seemed an unusual way the end the journey. We had to get down out of the train in the middle of a muddy siding and get in a taxi.
This is our room for the night in the Marriot Hotel in Prince George.
