Travel to Lyon

WE HAD NOTED THAT THE GARE DE LYON was just a few stations away, so hopped on the metro to take us to the SNCF high speed monster.

A bit of a wait; I had never seen a dog carriage before like this before.

What do you suppose: a Starbucks at the station, to set us off on the 2 hour trip to Lyon. Don played Zuma's Revenge.

Our new hotel is modeled on a school. Note the chairs up the wall.

We headed down into the town and encountered many Spanish soccer fans getting ready for the European Cup semifinal against Olympique Lyonnais.

A serious street band playing a local cross between brass band and jazz ... Andrew Ford will know the style.

Proper Lyonnais dinner for Don: white cheese ('canut brains') with potatoes and salad; blood sausage and apple; and chocolate profiteroles. Tough life.
