There were queues to get in and we took an audio tour.
The altar
The glass in one Rose window is predominately purple.
As well as a focus on Mary, the Cathedral gives particular attention to St Anne who, it turns out, is traditionally he name for Mary's mothers -- the importance of grandmothers recognised?
We next visited the Conciergerie, which at the height of the Terror in 1793 became
the place where people spent their last night before going to the guillotine.
Look! Marie-Antoinette praying in her cell before being beheaded.
Look! Don's head adorning the battlements!
Off on the tour again this time to the Petit Palais, the City of Paris Fine Art Museum. It is on the avenue Winston Churchill and was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
The exhibits are of decorative murals and sculptures created between 1903 and 1925.
This is me each night doing our washing!
A tea/ coffee break. Note the ceilings!
That was just a taster before the Louvre, we suspect.
Finally, just to prove we were really there and not just holding a €1 trinket:
