Last day in Lyon

A THREE DAY LYON CITY PASS had given us free entry to many of the museums and free access to all public transport, and today was our last chance to wring value from it. But today being Sunday, some of the last museums we wanted to see were closed. We decided to go wider on the public transport system, seeing some parts of the city beyond the core tourist areas.

We first went north, on the right bank of the Rhône, to see a modern art museum. Yes, it was closed. But we did see Interpol -- or at least the bus stop named in its honour -- and the very large park, in which we wandered through a rose garden (actually mainly a rosehip garden at this time of year).

Changing trolley buses, we found out how to get to the Gare Part-Dieu for our train to Rome tomorrow. Don printed off the tickets. I found the Starbucks ...

Back on the Presqu'Ile, we moved up the hill -- a much steeper hill than we expected via the metro -- and visited La Criox Rousse, formerly the main weaving district, and saw the city from a different perspective.

This was one pub we did not visit!

This is our final night in the Hotel; our last chance to steal a pencil!

Dinner tonight in a little restaurant serving food from Reunion while it poured with rain.
