It rained during the night and it was still raining when we lined up in a long, long queue for the Louvre.
I didn't take in my camera so Don took photos with his phone. No access to these photos yet, so you will have to guess who we saw being photographed more than all those by Botticelli, Michelangelo etc.
After a pricy museum lunch and some ancient statues including the Venus de Milo ...
We walked to the Musée de l'Orangerie. It has two large oval rooms with four vast paintings by Monet of water lilies around each room. It was beautiful to sit quietly in the middle of the room and gaze around.
Downstairs they had artwork from Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, and Soutine.
This our hotel, to which we will return after visiting chateaux sur Loire.
