Snowdonia

SNOWDON CALLING. Despite that, we started late. Don packed his hiking boots. Sue and Karen were definite that they were not walking up.

We reached the train, care of Kevin's driving, and found that the next train was leaving at 5.30 in the afternoon.

Don lashed out and consoled himself with prepackaged wine and Sue ate Welsh cakes.

We visited the National Slate Museum and saw terrace houses for the workers as they would have been in 1861, 1901 and 1969. The last reminded Karen of her family home years ago.

Having now missed the last train up Snowdon, we headed off to Portmeirion, where an eccentric English man created his own French/Italian little village.

We finished with a lovely meal at a restaurant in Dolgellau.
