Aberdyfi and school closures

OFF TO TYWYN to get fuel -- petrol stations not always being prolific along the sunshine coast -- and then on to Aberdyfi with Kevin. Strolling down the main road checking out the art shops and catching a coffee.

Turning for home, we visited the little old Welsh church near Llwyngwril dating from early 14th century. Helen Tipping provided a Victorian connection.

Meanwhile, the primary school in Llwyngwril is closing for good as the children will be being bused into a new larger school at Bryngrug, further down the coast. The children and staff put on a musical display to demonstrate what they have learnt over the year. It was quite moving as some staff have no jobs to go to in the new school year.

Cakes and occasionally curling sandwiches completed the event.

- Posted just before our race to the ferry, and onward to Eire.
