The Japanese Garden and the Maverick Machine

It was going to be hot today so we decided to go to the Japanese garden first thing in the morning. Bella climbed some trees and paddled in a fountain while we waited till 11.00am for it to open.

It was quiet and cool. Having investigated the gardens Bella fed the goldfish.

Bella and Nick had a special tour of the waterfall room. She pretended to cook in the kitchen and asked many questions of the guide.

Next we returned to the fountain to have lunch. While we waited for a bus to take us to the Franklin Institute Nick read to Bella.

At the Franklin Institute we went through the brain interactive rooms.

In another room I climbed though a very large heart.

There were lots of exhibits and we ended up in the flight room. 

Don was bravely piloted by Bella while I flew alone in an old fighter plane.

Don and I went on a virtual Apollo 11 mission to the moon ride. Nick and Bella very bravely went in the Maverick machine. Nick controlled it and it went upside down and flipped over backwards and generally spun them around.
