Beaches with Bella!

When Bella was asked what she wanted to do this weekend she said, “I want to go to the beach.” So Nick organised a car and we set off in the morning out of Philadelpha to the beaches along Delaware coast.

The first beach we visited was called Slaughter Beach. It was cool and Don and I decided not to go in!
We saw a lot of dead horseshoe crabs shells along the beach.

Nick and Bella tried to rescue one of the crabs but it was probably already dead. They went in the water but the wind was still cold so it was a brief dip.

What looked like hundreds of small seabirds gathered along the shore to swoop off, circle round and then land again.

The second beach we visited was called Dewey Beach. This was quite heavily populated and Bella and Nick had a good swim. Don and Nick taught Bella how to play French Cricket with the equipment Mike and Wendy had sent over.

The lifeguards sit at about 100 m apart but not many people seemed to be in swimming. We continued on to get ice creams at Rehoboth.

On the way back we visited The Belvue National Park.

Bella watched and gathered tips about fishing. We saw many turtles swimming.

The classic photo!!

And again!!
